Objective:


After being included into the academic programs in 1969, the National Service Scheme (NSS) has been an ongoing aspect of higher education at Savitribai Phule Pune University. The program’s overarching goal is to achieve its goal via education and community service, which also serves as the activity inside the program. This program, which is student-centered, uses NSS volunteers to organize social activities for the community in close coordination with other governmental agencies. This gives students a lot of opportunities to engage with people and develop their personalities as a whole. Beginning with 50 students in 2015, the Sandip Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Nashik has an NSS unit.

NSS Regular Activities:


NSS volunteers generally work with villages and social agencies to complete 120 hours of regular activities during an academic year. As per the Guidelines of National Service Scheme, a volunteer is expected to remain in constant touch with the community for social service.Hence, it is of vital importance that a particular village/slum is selected for implementation of NSS programmes. The activities like tree plantation, Organ donation awareness rally, road safety awareness activity, cleanliness campaign, Toilet Day celebration, Indian Constitution Day etc.

NSS Special Camp


Institute conducts 7 days special camp in the month of December every year. It is mandatory to adopt one village and through the special camp, various activities are organised for the benefit of villagers. The activities conducted in the special camp are Swachata Abhiyan, Tree plantation, Activities on Gender Equality, Village Survey, Anti Superstitions activity.
